From a father’s love to his daughter, hopefully YOROPEN makes all children writing easy and cheerful !

ORIGIN

The inspiration in creating Yoropen was from my lovely twins daughter "YOYO" and "RORO" who were born premature, and it was designed as a unique gift for the whole world. The children will enjoy learning and writing without stress and pain. Hopefully people using such implements can overcome conflict.

A phrase: [The pen is mightier than the sword ].

*Above quote is the concept in creating the Yoropen and it was mentioned by Mr Bao-shen Liu when being interviewed by .CENT one of the famous magazine firms in UK

THE FOUNDER

The founder of the Yoropen Corp, Mr. Bao-shen Liu, won the prize in Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Taiwan. He has devoted himself more than twenty years to his creation & invention career, and his inventions made him win over 30 prizes. The most famous inventions are including: Revolutionary measuring gauge and protractor, which are the excellent tools that can help the engineers measure angles at works. These inventions have been awarded with the championship in Geneva International invention in 1985. The other product like multifunctional rolling ruler has also won the Gold Medal in Pittsburgh International Invention. Mr. Liu didn't stop developing the new products in his whole life. Therefore, he accumulated plenty of experiences in creativities, manufacturing, international business, etc. Besides, he also authorized and sold his patents to some companies, and then had more funds for his continuous invention.

RESEARCH

In order to search for the wisdom of learning and confident writing instrument which is practical or not, he had evaluated the advantages and disadvantages about traditional pens. For this reason, he had visited Japan and Germany for several times because Japan has the most improved writing instrument, and UK or Germany is a country with the long history. He found out that there could be a big improvement in traditional writing tools. On the other hand, he also realized that the writing difficulty is a common problem that exists in the structure of character in different cultures, so it is a worldwide problem. He knew that it would be a huge task to change common users' minds, that had been affected in wrong writing habits from the traditional pen. Even though he still challenged his dream with all his effort and energy and finally he successfully made his dream come true.

THE GIFT FROM GOD

In 1995, I took my wife to the hospital for the routine pregnancy check. We were so surprised to hear from the doctor saying that we were going to have twin daughters! We thanked God for giving us such a special gift. That was my first time to be a father. I then gave the names 'YOYO" and "RORO" to my little angels. We expected these two little girls to arrive at the world and become a part of our family.

Unfortunately, after half of a year, my wife had the premature delivery and the two "premature angels" only stayed in the mother's womb for six and half months. When YOYO and RORO were born, they weighted only 63Og and 720g. (A normal child supposed to weight 3000g or above when he/she was born.) Because both of the little twins were having Cerebral Palsy problem, I need to put my job away in order to take care of YOYO and RORO.

As the children are getting older, their symptoms are more serious. YOYO was having more serious Cerebral Palsy disease, so she needs to stay on the bed for her whole life. Fortunately, RORO was not so serious as YOYO. At least she can talk and walk. Under this condition, I have extremely heavy burden on medical expenditure for Yoro & Roro. I have been thinking about God's purpose and why gave me this special gift.

When Roro is growing gradually, I started to worry about Roro's learning difficulties in the coming future. I’m with same consideration like all the parents who hope children can grow up healthily and learn happily. Meanwhile, I worried about children if they have enough wisdom to face their difficulties upon learning. So, I resumed my job and aim at "wisdom" for family and my career goal.

Mr. Liu began to observe the children's learning process, and finally figured out modern civilization from accumulative records and painting since long time ago. And writing instrument is representing human wisdom in different stage. Before people didn't have any pens to write down their records, they only can dig or carve something to keep life records. That's why Mr. Liu decided to develop writing tool - pen as his research.

From Roro's growing procedures, Mr. Liu explored what is the key of learning for children, the answer is writing. In general, children have same learning difficulty not to hold pencil well to write properly at the beginning learning stage, therefore normal children are not as different as the children with handicapped difficulty during initially learning stage. However general children will grow up gradually and then overcome hand writing problems when they are getting strong, but handicapped children would need a longer time to practice well. Mostly people feel some uncomfortable strains from writing, and poor position can cause back pain after sustained period, children's hand writing would meet same problems.

Finally Mr. Liu decided to face the challenges that exist in traditional pen and he wanted to overcome them. Mr. Liu started to design a pen that could be useful for his daughter and also for all of the children in the world.

"YOROPEN" overcomes typical problems associated with traditional pens, it brings new life and more specialties for writing instrument, "YOROPEN" is more and more popular and approved by experts , media and famous writing scholars from 2002 till today. YOROPEN CORP is established by the founder Mr. Bao-shen Liu to develop "YOROPEN" series and has already expanded global markets to let more & more people use" YOROPEN" which is full of cares of human natures. In addition, Mr. Liu is also ready to use his twenty years invention experience and ability to launch a whole new Yoropen product range to present to the world. It will be a very exciting thing for people!

TESTIMONIALS

The Yoropen and pencil have been tried and tested by handwriting experts, teachers and children and always with a positive result, as shown from the following recommendation :

Professor Rosemary Sassoon, UK :

Professor Rosemary Sassoon has written over thirty books on handwriting. In her book "The Art and Science of Handwriting", she mentioned : "In a particular survey, 40% of girls and 25% of boys from schools, of school leaving age, could be counted as suffering pain when writing. Surveys with higher achieving pupils of the same age pointed to an even higher proportion of pain. Tension tremors can occasionally be observed in children under stress. Occasionally, the pain and tension can be so intense that pupils can become unable to use their writing hand. This is often related to overuse at examination time, but cases of younger children appear to be on the increase worldwide, especially in countries where the education system is highly competitive "

2OO4.4.25 in London Launch:

Dr. Rosemary Sassoon : The pen is for everybody. Children have been forced to hold the pen in the proper writing position. But this pen encourages them to use correctly. It's giving them something differently. And it's right and suitable for everybody. It will help a lot of children. And let's not forget adults. It can help them. I also find out some patients. lt changes the angle and it changes the muscle as you need. So, if you are establishing something, t here is nothing like a pen as a motivation to change. It gives a comfortable and different writing implement.

It's a great motivation to change!

Hideki Oshiki’s Handwriting Research Center :

During Dr. Hideki Oshiki's research, he looked for many different pens as materials for his education research and accidentally he found Yoropen. He mentioned that Yoropen did help a lot in writing, and explained the feature of the Yoropen in his website.

Michael Woods – Editor of the Journal of the Writing Equipment Society :

Mr. Bao Shen Liu, in designing the Yoropen, has brought together two interesting features; the offset point has been used by copperplate calligraphers as an aid to achieving a consistently angled script. The triangular rubber grip has been a feature of teaching young children and all children with writing difficulties - a mean of encouraging “correct" grip of writing tools. Bringing the set together in a light, well balanced writing instrument, through which ink flows fluently to a ball point, is a great success. The pen does what it claims – by reducing strain, improving the field of vision, encouraging correct hold and assisting left-handers. It should be particularly welcomed by educational and physiotherapy professionals as another valuable resource to help their work.

Mr. Nicholas Coddard / Orthopaedic Surgeon, London :

Thank you so much for sending me a sample (Yoropen) which is really quite revolutionary and should be comfortable to use. The grip is a little unconventional but very easy to adapt and is chunky enough to be used by patients with weak grip as I was discussing with you last week. Once it is on the market I would be happy to point my patients in your direction.

Johnny / Chiropractor :

I have tested this pen and found it to be unique in design, allowing me to write more comfortably, as I do not hold my pen in the traditional way. I would anticipate that individuals with hand injuries might get benefit from the versatility in the way this new pen can be held.

Jason Marantz / English Teacher, Wolfsen Hillel Primary School, London :

For over a month now, pupils at school in which I work have been trialed the Yoropen. The results have been most encouraging. Children have commented to me that they find the pen comfortable. I have noticed that to use the Yoropen, you must hold it at a proper angle and in the tripod grip. Consequently, the user has to sit up straight, improving his/her posture. Children who are both left and right handed feel that they sit more comfortably and can actually see their work when using the Yoropen. Many children, especially left handers who use conventional pens cannot see their work The Yoropen changes all of that providing a unique field of vision. Being able to see their work enables users to write in a neater fashion. I have witnessed enjoy using the Yoropen and have become more confident with their handwriting. As they are more comfortable when writing they can write for longer periods of time. This improves their performance. The most encouraging change in the children using the pen has been their self confidence. The children enjoy writing and are proud of their work.

BBC News 2002.5.1

Inventor Bao-Shen Liu demonstrates his Yoropen at the 30'h International Inventions Show in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 1, 2002. The pen allows the writer to see what is being written from any angle, prevents fingers from pointing down, and writes from different position.

Japan, Asahi News 2005.4 9

The pen don't have to be the vertical form. There are many mistakes in the form of writing instrument. The pen now be presented in one of it. Some people would be wondered "It might be good to write when seeing this pen at first sight, but the result may be negative after using it." But after tried it under the nature of enjoying using new things, so surprised it was good to write. First, the angle between ballpoint and paper allows you writing easily. Besides, the angle looks like the head of airplane which enable the hand using with the proper power on the paper. Moreover, the triangle grip can be rotated to the proper position you need. The most amazing thing is the words can be seen clearly. Until now I knew how the sight been blotted the visual space when using the tradition pen. Another wonderful thing is the left-hander won't smudge the words they wrote.

Emma Thompson / Hollywood movie star, London:

Thank you so much for the Yoropen. lt's amazing, comfortable & I'm using it now. I like it.

Introducing the YOROPEN

Yoropen didn't do anything that a conventional ball point couldn't do just as well. In this they miss the point and disregard months of extensive trials and design nuances – the Yoropen's big plus is that once you are used to it, it all makes perfect sense. For long letters, note taking or similar marathons its certainly easier on the hand than say a Bic, it requires very little pressure and you don't need to keep making constant adjustments in order to keep cramp at bay. In this its bound to appeal to students, or anyone else who needs to write.

Penmanship

It has been designed by Bao-shen Liu, a father in Taiwan, who observed his children's problems with writing and decided to study both pens and writing in order to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of conventional pens. The result is the Yoropen, an ergonomically designed pen that makes writing easier and overcomes many problems such as strain, tension and poor posture. World-renowned handwriting expert Dr. Rosemary Sassoon reports: The Yoropen's innovatively designed barrel allows a ballpoint to work at a comfortable angle. The Yoropen might be of special use to those with real writing problems caused by arthritic hands, writer's cramp, stroke and other medical conditions." And Orthopaedic Surgeon Nicholas Coddard has said: The grip is a little unconventional but very easy to adapt and is chunky enough to be used by patients with a weak grip.

I See a Bright Light

Bin your Biros, this is the Yoropen. The most effective ergonomic pen ever designed. It's something of a revolution in the ink-scribbling world thanks to its offset nib andthe fact it can be used easily between right and left-handers.

The problems that associated with traditional pens

The problem for traditional pen is that we need to hold the pen vertically . This is the cause of many potential pain when holding pens. When using the traditional pens, the fingers will often obstruct the writing space. Especially for young children ! While children's hands can't completely hold a pen well due to no finger support when children are writing with the traditional pens, they always try to hold the pen tightly in order to stick their fingers to the pen. And we find out that their fingers will slip down toward the pen tip, and this will cause an awkward writing and the fingers will obstruct the field of vision. The children will lean over their body in order to see clearly what was being written. After a period of time, the eyesight and spine will suffer from the pain.

Key problems associated with handwriting

Pain on hand muscle-the traditional barrel does not have finger support, the tension of holding the pen can lead to blisters and even pain after a long period of writing.

Poor posture – as the individuals may lean their heads to see what was being writing. This is usually the causes of the pain in the neck and spine.

Poor visibility – the fingers will slip towards the pen tip, thus fingers will obstruct the field of vision.

Problems for lefthanders – because the lefthanders write from the left to the right, they will easily smudge their writing and cannot see what was being written.
